In highest defeat: James passes Abdul-Jabbar again

Despite another NBA record, LeBron James will probably not frame this evening: The superstar took the biggest loss of his career against the Sixers

An evening to forget for LeBron James: The superstar became the man with the most minutes in NBA history on Monday night, but in the same breath he suffered the biggest defeat of his long career in the best league in the world.

The figures in detail are as follows. The Californians lost the game at the Wells Fargo Center by a whopping 94:138 against Philadelphia, a difference of 44 points. Unfamiliar territory for the 38-year-old James (-42 so far in 2019 against Indiana), who sobered up afterwards by stating that “a lot” had to change for the 18-time champions, who are now 10-8. Although the “King” was the visitors’ top scorer with 18 points, he did not grab a single rebound and, like the other starters, called it a day after 30 minutes of action.

Embiid dominates again

On the other side, Joel Embiid dominated this game with a triple-double – 30 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists each for the star center, who lifted the Sixers to a 12-5 record in their highest-ever win over the Lakers (290 NBA duels in the books).

According to LeBron, however, the new record is “not worth much”. With 66,319 minutes on the NBA’s courts (regular season and playoffs), the forward now leads in this category as well as in points, once again leaving Lakers icon Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (66,297) behind him.

Clippers lose to the Nuggets’ B-team – Westbrooks Airball

Daniel Theis and the Los Angeles Clippers (7-9) lost 104-113 at home to the Denver Nuggets, even though the champions were missing three cornerstones in superstar Nikola Jokic (back problems) and the injured Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon. The Clippers still led 90:80 at the start of the final quarter, but then the visitors from Colorado (12-6) turned the game around thanks to Reggie Jackson (35 points, 13 assists) and DeAndre Jordan (21 points, 13 rebounds) – both of whom used to play for the Clippers. “Definitely one of the sweet wins,” said Jackson, expressing his satisfaction after many successful pick-and-roll actions with Jordan.

World champion Theis scored four points in twelve minutes of action for his new team. Kawhi Leonard was the Californians’ best scorer with 31 points, while Russell Westbrook missed an airball on a free throw with the score at 98:102 …
