FC Bayern holds its nerve against Milan in overtime

On Tuesday evening, Emporio Armani Milan played their part at FC Bayern. It was a very close game – which the Munich side won in extra time

The basketball players of FC Bayern Munich have extended their small winning streak in the Euroleague. The Munich club won 91:84 (76:76, 39:44) after overtime against Olimpia Milan on Tuesday evening. It was the Bundesliga club’s sixth win in its twelfth game in the top flight. Carsen Edwards was the best scorer with 32 points.

The first quarter was evenly poised. Neither team was able to pull away. After trailing slightly, Bayern stepped up and led at half-time. The home side was more effective, especially with the rebounds. The shooting percentage could be improved at this point. Only just over half of the two-point shots landed in the basket. Their accuracy from outside was even less precise

The match remained close after the break. Munich conceded numerous turnovers in the final minutes of the third period, but was still able to take a narrow lead into the final quarter. It began with Milan equalizing. Bayern were not initially impressed by this. The Italians pulled away slightly midway through the quarter. Serge Ibaka forced overtime with his three-pointer just seconds before the end. Bayern prevailed thanks to the outstanding Edwards, who scored eleven of his 15 points
