The future of Erling Haaland remains open, Real Madrid seem to be a hot lead – at least in FIFA 22 a move to the Blancos would be promising.

Although the young attacker’s contract at Borussia Dortmund still runs until the summer of 2024, it is almost utopian that the Norwegian will stay for another two and a half years. Haaland has shot to the top of the world in record time, and he has aroused too many desires from the highest levels.

More likely is a change much sooner, the interested parties are queuing up. Real Madrid have always been suspected of being in pole position, and Haaland could be Karim Benzema’s successor – at least in the long term. We’ll take a look at how well the 21-year-old would fit in with the Blancos in FIFA 22.

Changes to FUT chemistry

In FIFA 22 Ultimate Team (FUT), the Spanish capital club’s crest on Haaland’s maps would open up new link-building possibilities. All players of the Spanish La Liga would be available with reasonable chemistry, optimised of course by further Real professionals: Especially the talented Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo could form a triangle for the future with Haaland.

The present, however, provides for other top performers in FUT: Casemiro (89), Thibaut Courtois (89), the aforementioned Benzema (89) and Toni Kroos (88) have the highest overall ratings with the Madrilenians in their Gold versions. As for Haaland’s nationality, the only chance would be a Norwegian forward duo – Alexander Sörloth now plays for Real Sociedad.

Talented Real offence in career mode

In career mode, the focus is even more clearly on future ability.With Haaland in the attacking centre, Vinícius and Rodrygo on the flanks and Eduardo Camavinga behind them in midfield, Real would have filled some key attacking positions for years to come.

Haaland is a different type of player than Madrid legend Benzema – but he could harmonise excellently with the lively Brazilians on the wings.
