The European Sports Media have announced their top eleven for September. Once again Real Madrid and Manchester City excel, but the Serie A leaders are also represented
No other team currently excels in top European football like Real Madrid – the royals have won every single competitive match to date. This is also reflected in the ESM Eleven of the Month for September, which includes no less than five Madrid players. In addition to the outstanding attacking players Vinicius Junior and Fede Valverde, who is listed in midfield despite his regular position on the right wing, former Munich player David Alaba has also made it into the selection.
Only Manchester City, who have three players in the ESM eleven, can currently keep up with Real. Alongside Joao Cancelo and Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland is of course also included. The Norwegian scores as he pleases in the Skyblues jersey, something that former club Borussia Dortmund also recently experienced in the Champions League.
South Korean Min-jae Kim of SSC Napoli has earned his place because of his strong performances for the current Serie A leaders, as has Robert Lewandowski, who may not have scored against FC Bayern in the top flight, but has been causing a stir in the league for weeks now.
