Alba Berlin was not stopped by Olympiakos Piraeus in the EuroLeague and beat the Greek top club surprisingly clear.
Alba Berlin has achieved an important victory in the Euroleague. The Bundesliga basketball team defeated the favoured guests from Olympiakos Piraeus on Thursday with 90:75 (37:30). Thanks to the success, the Berliners can continue to hope for a place in the quarter finals.
The Albatrosses got off to a very good start and initially managed to pull away to five points. Then, however, the guests found their way better into the game and were even able to take the lead by the end of the first quarter. Just before the break, the home side then played stronger and were able to go into the dressing room with a 37:30 lead thanks to a strong three-point quota.
In the second half, the Berliners controlled the tempo of the game and continued to have the otherwise so strong offensive of the Greeks under control. In front, they scored led by the strong Maodo Lo, who was the best scorer of the game with 27 points, and celebrated an unexpectedly clear victory.
