Zverev shocker out!

Local hero Jannik Sinner surprisingly reaches the final at the ATP Finals in Turin. The fans’ favorite defeats Zverev terror Daniil Medvedev

Local hero Jannik Sinner has surprisingly reached the final at the ATP Finals in Turin. The fans’ favorite defeated the Russian Daniil Medvedev, who had beaten Alexander Zverev in the group stage, 6:3, 6:7 (4:7), 6:1 and became the first Italian to reach the final of the highlight tournament for the year’s top eight professionals.

The world number four Sinner, who had beaten Novak Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Holger Rune in the group stage, was inspired by the crowd and did not let the unfortunate loss of the second set put him off his stride. After 2:29 hours, the 22-year-old converted his first match point. His opponent on Sunday will once again be Djokovic or the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.

Sinner has already made history: The South Tyrolean became the first Italian player to celebrate 61 victories in one season in the era of professional tennis since 1968. And he still has the chance to win a record prize of more than 4.8 million US dollars if he storms to the title in Turin.
