WWE star considers retirement

Was WrestleMania 41 Naomi’s last big appearance for the time being? The former women’s champion reveals that she is seriously considering taking at least a longer break for family reasons.

Two-time WWE women’s champion Naomi is thinking about retiring from wrestling for a while or for good because of family reasons.

In a candid interview on the show hosted by former WWE sisters Nikki and Brie Bella, Jimmy Uso’s wife said she’s seriously thinking about taking at least a long break to have a baby.

WWE: Naomi considers becoming a mother

“I’m 37. I have to make a decision on this – preferably yesterday. I’m thinking about it and struggling with this question,” said Naomi.

Noami (real name: Trinity Fatu) has been married to the twin brother of reigning World Champion Jey Uso since 2014. The couple have raised two children from Jimmy’s previous relationship, and Naomi is struggling with the question of whether she wants to become a mother herself.

“I definitely lean towards it, but I have health issues,” Naomi revealed: ‘I only have one ovary. Even if I wanted to wrestle for a long time, my biological clock is ticking, I can’t. We have a lot to figure out. I have to step back at some point and take care of my health and myself. If we want to have children, I have to start that process very soon.’

Naomi also revealed that the subject is linked to fears she has due to a personal tragedy: one of her cousins, who she grew up with and was very close to, died while giving birth to her last child.

“I think to myself: that could have been me.”

Naomi had already left WWE in March 2023 after she and her partner Sasha Banks fell out with former league boss Vince McMahon.

While Banks stayed away permanently and is now active as Mercedes Moné at rival AEW, Naomi returned in early 2024, most recently having a major feud with up-and-comer Jade Cargill, against whom she fought her last match to date at WrestleMania and lost.

In her recently published interview, Naomi emphasizes that her comeback to WWE felt particularly special because of her personal situation: “The time I have left here feels even more special and valuable to me. I’m also particularly passionate right now because I think to myself: This could soon be over.”
