Victory at the green table: Switzerland remains first-class

After the Nations League match between Switzerland and Ukraine, originally scheduled for 17 November, was cancelled due to corona, UEFA had to decide how the match would be rated. The decision was in favour of Switzerland.

At the time, so many cases of corona had been detected in the Ukraine team that it ultimately led to the cancellation. Nevertheless, the question of guilt had to be finally clarified, also because Ukraine could actually have fulfilled the minimum requirement of 13 fit players. However, the Lucerne cantonal doctor Roger Harstall had ordered quarantine for the entire Ukrainian team – and the match could no longer be played. Now the UEFA Disciplinary Committee ruled that Ukraine had been “responsible”.

The match was therefore rated 3-0 for Switzerland, who thus secured their place in Group 4 of League A together with Spain and Germany.

Ukraine, on the other hand, will have to go down to League B.
