Nader El-Jindaoui has found a new club. As the former Herthaner announced on his YouTube channel on Sunday evening, he has signed a contract with MLS champions Los Angeles Galaxy.
After being without a club for half a year, Nader El-Jindaoui is taking on a new challenge. The 28-year-old announced this on his YouTube channel on Sunday evening. The Berlin native proudly presented a contract from Los Angeles Galaxy.
The reigning MLS champions had already tested attacking player El-Jindaoui – who prefers to play on the right wing – from October to December 2024 and offered him a contract. This is now becoming a reality. Confirmation from the club is still pending.
El-Jindaoui started playing football at Tennis Borussia in Berlin, and after stops in Cottbus, Chemnitz, Babelsberg, Fürth II and Düsseldorf II, he ended up at Berliner AK in the summer of 2020. With strong performances in the regional league – especially in the 2021/22 season (14 goals in 35 games) – he recommended himself for higher tasks.
Penalty goal against HSV
His high-profile transfer to Hertha BSC in the summer of 2022 was followed by his professional debut in the Olympic Stadium last season. However, the dribbling-strong left-footed player did not make it off the bench for the 0-0 draw against Osnabrück in the Bundesliga 2 and the emotional cup thriller against HSV (5-3 in a penalty shootout – El-Jindaoui scored from the spot). After the 2023/24 season, El-Jindaoui’s contract with the Old Lady ended. Since then, he has been without a club.
Now, however, El-Jindaoui is about to make his debut abroad. At Los Angeles Galaxy, who were able to take the national crown at the beginning of December with a 2-1 win over Sandro Schwarz’s New York Red Bulls, El-Jindaoui will face BVB icon Marco Reus, among others. Galaxy recently strengthened their defense with the addition of former Düsseldorf player Mathias Jörgensen, among others.
Incidentally, the new MLS season kicks off on February 22 – two days later, Los Angeles Galaxy will get things underway with a home game against San Diego FC. On August 17, they will even have the chance to face Lionel Messi when the MLS champions play Inter Miami away from home.
