Reinforcement for the attack: Hansa sign Fröling from Sweden

Zweitligist Hansa Rostock have secured the services of left winger Nils Fröling. The 21-year-old comes from Sweden and joins the Kogge until 2025.

Fröling turned professional at Swedish first division club Kalmar FF and played 27 games there last season, scoring four goals and providing three assists. “We have been watching Nils for a while. With him, we have been able to sign a technically skilled and very fast-paced perspective player, who has a strong one-on-one and a good shot,” said Sporting Director Martin Pieckenhagen, describing the new arrival.

For the 21-year-old, who was born in Texas and therefore also has US citizenship, Rostock will be reunited with Svante Ingelsson, with whom he has already played both in the Swedish U-21 team and at Kalmar.

“I really like the playing philosophy and mentality at Hansa and of course I have heard about the great support and high expectations of the fans here in Rostock,” Fröling is quoted as saying on the club website. The 1.81-metre-tall left winger will be given the number 15 at the back at Hansa, the contract signed on Wednesday is valid until the summer of 2025.
