Austria’s national coach Ralf Rangnick has undergone a long-planned operation in Salzburg.
Austria’s team manager Ralf Rangnick will remain in a Salzburg hospital until Friday. The Backnanger underwent long-planned surgery on his ankle in mid-June. Last week, further surgery was necessary because the wound had become infected.
The operation went well and Rangnick is on the road to recovery, a spokesperson for the 67-year-old told the APA on Wednesday.
Rangnick has been Austria’s national coach since summer 2022. The Alpine republic’s next World Cup qualifier is against Cyprus on September 6.
