The Judgment Day group regains the World Tag Team Titles at WWE RAW – and also clarifies the situation surrounding the women’s belts following Liv Morgan’s injury.
Gunther is World Champion again and heading for a duel with legend Bill Goldberg, while up-and-coming Giulia holds the Women’s US Title: There has been a lot of movement in the WWE title landscape in recent weeks – now the next major shake-up is underway.
On the latest episode of the TV show Monday Night RAW, the Judgment Day faction won the next belts. There was also clarification regarding the women’s tag team titles following the injury of Judgment Day member Liv Morgan.
WWE RAW: Three titles for Judgment Day
Finn Balor and JD McDonagh secured the World Tag Team Titles for the second time on RAW with a victory over the previous title holders The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) – in addition, the young Roxanne Perez was officially accepted into the group and named the new co-title holder alongside Raquel Rodriguez.
The move was staged as a chess move by leader Balor, who urged general managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis to recognize Perez as Morgan’s replacement, while Rodriguez expressed skepticism that Morgan should be given more time to recover from her shoulder problems.
Balor overruled them and got the concession he wanted from the GMs – on the condition that Perez and Morgan must defend their title at the upcoming Evolution event in a four-way match against three duos from the RAW, SmackDown, and NXT rosters.
The current incarnation of Judgment Day – once founded by WWE Hall of Famer Edge and a career springboard for former members Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley – now has three titles in its ranks again: Dominik Mysterio has held the Intercontinental Title since WrestleMania. Just in time for the summer highlight SummerSlam in August, the alliance – from which Carlito, recently kicked out by WWE, has been removed – is once again being portrayed as a dominant force.
