Will Djokovic continue his record chase?

On the fourth day of Wimbledon, top stars Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner are in action. Jan-Lennard Struff also still hopes to advance to the third round.

Will Novak Djokovic’s record chase continue at Wimbledon? The former world number one faces British local hero Daniel Evans in the second round of the grass court classic on Thursday.

The match is scheduled as the first match on Centre Court.

Wimbledon: German hopes rest on Struff

From a German perspective, hopes rest on Jan-Lennard Struff after Alexander Zverev’s first-round exit. The only remaining German in the singles competition still has a chance of reaching the third round on Thursday.

His second-round match against Félix Auger-Aliassime was interrupted on Wednesday with the score at 3-6, 7-6 (11-9) from the Warstein native’s perspective. In the tiebreak of the second set, the 35-year-old fended off four set points and managed to even the score.

Due to darkness, the match was subsequently postponed until Thursday. Struff will continue on Court 18 following the match between Flavio Cobolli and Jack Pinnington Jones. Struff’s singles match is not scheduled to resume before 1:30 p.m.

Wimbledon: Djokovic chases record champion Federer

Djokovic is fighting for his eighth title at the classic grass court tournament in London. He won his opening match against France’s Alexandre Muller in four sets.

Winning the title at Wimbledon would see Djokovic draw level with record champion Roger Federer. Both would then have won 25 Grand Slam titles.

One of the biggest rivals in the battle for the title at the All England Club is world number one Jannik Sinner. The Italian will face Australia’s Aleksander Vukic on Thursday, also on Centre Court.

The second match on the hallowed turf will be between Iga Swiatek and Caty McNally, following Djokovic’s appearance.

Wimbledon: Defending champion faces tough challenge

In the women’s competition, defending champion Barbora Krejcikova also faces a tough challenge. Her final opponent, Jasmine Paolini, made a surprise exit in the second round on Wednesday.

The Czech Krejcikova will battle the American Caroline Dolehide for a place in the third round. The match will take place on Court 2, starting no earlier than 1:30 p.m.
