The English referee brings good fortune for Tottenham, who are on an eight-game winning streak with him blowing the whistle. In the meantime, Liverpool had lost five straight under his guidance before beating Crystal Palace at the beginning of the season. All in all, Michael Oliver has been appointed as a referee in Liverpool games more than any other active referee and they’ve won only 14 out of 33. We’ll find out how influential he’ll be on Saturday at 13:30 CET in London’s Wembley Stadium.

Tottenham – Liverpool H2H Preview

One of Liverpool’s five defeats last season came in this stadium. Tottenham scored two early goals and ran off with a 4-1 victory which is their first since 2013. Jurgen Klopp’s team failed to win in the rematch too. A crazy game ended in a 2-2 draw when Harry Kane scored from the penalty spot in the 95th minute, eight minutes after he missed a penalty and four minutes after Salah scored what everyone thought would be the game winner.

Liverpool is among the three perfect teams to start the Premier League season. Tottenham Hotspur lost to the third one (Watford) in their last game before the international break following three wins in the first three rounds. The Reds have not won away to Tottenham since 2014, while 12 out of the 14 Tottenham wins against Saturday’s opponent have come at home.

Son Heung-Min will be back in Tottenham’s squad following a month-long absence during which he represented South Korea in the Asian Games. His team won the gold medal, defeating Japan in the final 2-1 (ET). The result means Heung-Min will be exempt from obligatory military service in his native country and it also means he can now turn his full attention to helping the club.
