Mbappé to receive more than €60 million: PSG decides not to appeal in legal dispute

The long-running legal dispute between Paris St. Germain and former player Kylian Mbappé has officially come to an end. The French record champions have announced that they will not be appealing against last December’s ruling.

Paris Saint-Germain will pay its former star striker Kylian Mbappé more than €60 million. The French record champions have decided not to appeal the ruling handed down by the Paris Labor Court in December. The club confirmed this to the AFP news agency.

“Out of a sense of responsibility and in order to finally conclude a process that has dragged on for far too long, the club has decided not to prolong the legal dispute any further. Paris Saint-Germain is now resolutely focused on the future, on its sporting project and on shared success,” PSG said in a statement.

The dispute between Mbappé and his former club concerned outstanding bonuses, salaries, and unused vacation days from the last year of his contract, which runs until 2024. However, the player’s lawyers’ request to convert his fixed-term contracts into a permanent employment relationship was rejected. On this basis, the French international had filed claims against PSG for €263 million. PSG’s counterclaims, which amounted to €440 million, were also rejected in their entirety.

After his contract expired in the summer of 2024, Mbappé moved to Real Madrid. He had previously played in 269 competitive matches (217 goals) for PSG after joining the French capital club from AS Monaco in 2017 in a record €222 million transfer.
