Logan Paul signs with WWE

YouTube superstar and Floyd Mayweather opponent Logan Paul signs on with wrestling market leader WWE – and will soon be getting back in the ring.

World-famous YouTube star Logan Paul has signed a contract with WWE – and apparently wants to get in the ring even more often for the wrestling market leader.

Paul, also known for his show-boxing match against Floyd Mayweather last year, posted pictures of his signing at the company’s Stamford headquarters on Thursday.

WWE confirmed the news with an official statement, without giving details of the deal. Renowned combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani reports that Paul signed a “multi-year contract” with WWE and will “compete in multiple events per year.” Helwani is well-connected in the executive suite as former client Nick Khan – formerly a sports media agent, now WWE president.

WWE interim boss Stephanie McMahon and her husband and fellow executive “Triple H” Paul Levesque showed up with Paul – Stephanie is currently taking the place of her father Vince McMahon, who temporarily stepped down due to his sex and hush money scandal.

Logan Paul back in the ring at WWE SummerSlam

Paul has made appearances at the WrestleMania mega-show for the past two years, this year also actively in the ring with former champion The Miz against legend Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik.

The brother of Jake Paul, who is not universally liked, put in a strong performance in the ring and revealed clear talent for the show-fighting craft, both athletically and in terms of charismatic charisma. The bout ended with partner Miz turning on him – whereas the two now look set to square off at the summer highlight SummerSlam on 30 June.

There were hints of this on Monday’s TV show Monday Night RAW, Paul had also previously released training pictures from the WWE Performance Centre in Orlando.

Because of his huge, especially young fanbase – which was also noticeable in the ratings during past TV appearances for WWE – the WWE interest in a long-term collaboration with Paul comes as no surprise.
