Ghost games coming in Baden-Wuerttemberg

In Baden-Wuerttemberg, the state government has announced ghost games in professional football again in the near future.

Consultations on further corona tightenings should take place on Monday and Tuesday, government spokesman Arne Braun told the German Press Agency on Sunday. “But it is clear that ghost matches are coming in professional football,” Braun continued.

Attendance at major events has only recently been restricted. Clubs are only allowed to use half their capacity. The upper limit is currently 25,000 spectators Again, vaccinated and convalescents need an additional test.

He said that in view of the current development, the state government was at all times considering further tightening which was possible. “The new virus variant, the worsening situation in intensive care units in many regions, the exponential growth that continues unchecked – all this makes rapid action necessary,” said Braun.
