Equaliser in the snow: Türkgücü rescues a point

Thanks to a late goal, Türkgücü still managed to get a point against Zwickau (2:2). The Munich side thus ended their losing streak. FSV, meanwhile, keep a streak going.

The Munich team had parted company with Peter Hyballa on Tuesday after only seven league games. Under the old coach, there were two victories and four defeats, most recently even four defeats in a row. Türkgücü does not yet have a successor. On Monday, the team was coached by the interim coach duo Alper Kayabunar and Nicolas Masetzky. Compared to the 0:2 at Eintracht Braunschweig, there were four changes in the starting eleven: Kusic, Irving, Chato and Scepanik started for Kehl-Gomez, Tosun, Gorzel and Kuhn.

Coach Joe Enochs was absent from FSV Zwickau in Munich after he had gone into domestic isolation the weekend before last due to a positive Corona test. A “test out” of quarantine failed on Thursday. Enochs stayed in West Saxony, he was replaced by co-coach Robin Lenk. Since the last match against Magdeburg was cancelled due to 13 positive corona results at the FCM, Zwickau played their last match on 13 November in a 2-0 win against TSV Havelse. After this match a fortnight ago, there were five changes: Kamenz replaced the sick captain and regular keeper Brinkies. Coskun, Hauptmann, Möker and Starke also started for Schikora, Butzen, Könnecke and Horn.

Error by Vollath – Irving’s flash of inspiration

It developed into an even first half with chances on both sides. The visitors had the first one, Starke shot too centrally (12.). On the other side, the home side had the goal scream on their lips, but Barry headed past from a few metres on the left (18th). And this missed chance took revenge, because Vollath did not clear a cross consistently enough, so that Gomez scored on the volley for the FSV lead (31st).

The Munich team shook itself for a few minutes – and equalised before the break: Irving played an outstanding pass into the alley for Sararer, who lifted the ball over the visitors’ keeper Kamenz into the goal (43rd). Türkgücü almost turned the game completely around before half-time, but Sliskovic failed to hit the ball properly after Nkansah’s stick error in an excellent position (45.+2).

Gomez scores a brace – Reinthaler scores own goal

The second half started perfectly for the visitors: Gomez took a long ball and finished into the left corner for 2:1 (53.). The visitors from Zwickau stayed in it, Baumann missed the 3:1 from close range (59.). All in all, the visitors stood well defensively and hardly let anything happen. Türkgücü had very little on the offensive. It was rather the guests who put themselves in danger, Nkansah headed to the left of his own box (65.).

Towards the end of the game, the snowfall became heavier, it was not easy conditions. The Munich team continued to believe in the equaliser – and they were rewarded, though Zwickau helped out: Reinthaler headed Hottmann’s cross into his own goal for the 2:2 final score (88th).

Türkgücü, who ended their negative streak of four straight defeats, will face Viktoria in Berlin on Saturday (2pm). FSV Zwickau, now unbeaten in nine games, will host 1. FC Saarbrücken the evening before at 7 pm.
