Darmstadt extend contracts with Holland and Bader

The SV Darmstadt 98 retains two key players. As the Hessians announced on Tuesday, captain Fabian Holland and Matthias Baderextended their contracts during the international break.

Good news in the defence of table four SV Darmstadt 98: With Matthias Bader and Fabian Holland, two absolute regulars of the Lilien extend their current working papers. For left-back and captain Holland (31), who has been under contract with Darmstadt since 2015 and has now committed himself until 2024, this is a matter of the heart: “The Lilien have long since become my heart’s club, not without reason am I now a member of Darmstadt 98. My identification with the club, the city and the people is huge. My family also feels totally at home here, which is why I wanted to make sure things were clear at an early stage. “

Heart club Darmstadt meets expectations

Right-back Matthias Bader is similarly happy about his employment contract, which has been extended to 2025. “My hopes and expectations when I arrived just under two years ago have been more than confirmed. I feel very much at home with the Lilien, and in my private life I have also long since arrived in Darmstadt. I think the club is developing in the right direction and I want to do my bit for continuity by signing my contract,” the 24-year-old, who joined from 1 FC Köln in 2020, commented on his signing.

“With the contract extensions, we have clarified important personnel matters at an early stage. Both Fabi and Matze have shown their sporting value and their attachment to the Lilien during their time in Darmstadt,” says the Lilien’s sporting director Carsten Wehlmann, who is also aware of the relevance of the two players – and continues: “In the current season, they are also proving their importance as players and identification figures and are leading the way both on and off the pitch. We are pleased that they believe in the path SV 98 took a long time ago and want to continue to decisively shape it in the future.”
