Corona looseners: Djokovic hopes for Paris start

Paris – Tennis star Novak Djokovic can hope to take part in the French Open in Paris.

Because the Corona rules will be significantly relaxed in France on 14 March, the Serb, who has still not been vaccinated against the Corona virus, could possibly compete in the second Grand Slam tournament of the season. The French Open at the Stade Roland Garros starts on 22 May.

French Prime Minister Jean Castex had declared on Thursday that from 14 March the current obligation to show the “Pass Vaccinal” (“vaccination card”) would be suspended. Djokovic could benefit from this.

Djokovic had not been able to take part in the Australian Open in Melbourne because he had been expelled from the country one day before the start of the tournament for not having been vaccinated. The 34-year-old had flown to Australia assuming that he would be allowed to enter the country with a medical exemption. However, a federal court ruled otherwise.
