There’s a lot of buzz surrounding quarterback legend Tom Brady: The seven-time Super Bowl champion slapped star influencer Logan Paul on stage at Fanatics Fest in New York ahead of the World Cup final.
Brady and Paul—who are collaborating on a flag football project—have been trading public jabs at each other for some time. However, it’s doubtful that this is genuine animosity—the background behind the moment, which quickly went viral online, appears to be something else.
Will Tom Brady Soon Be Fighting in the WWE?
Rumors have been circulating for some time that Tom Brady is in negotiations with the WWE and is planning an exhibition match there against his business partner Paul.
Jake Paul’s older brother has been active as an exhibition fighter for quite some time—something Brady had publicly mocked a while back. Brady called Paul’s exhibition matches “cute”—prompting angry posts from various WWE stars. Even back then, the events seemed staged and like preparation for a possible WWE guest appearance by Brady.

Even before the physical altercation with Paul, Brady had fueled the rumors: In a conversation with former WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, the NFL legend expressed openness to a future WWE appearance. League President Nick Khan is reportedly welcome to approach him with an offer.
The fact that WWE shared the clip of Brady and Paul suggests that a deal might already be in the works. There may be a follow-up at the major WWE event SummerSlam on August 1 and 2 in Minneapolis.
At Fanatics Fest, a fan event held over the weekend of the World Cup final, Brady was joined on stage by other big names. Guests included Lionel Messi and several other members of the Argentine national team. Stars such as Novak Djokovic, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and David Beckham rounded out the lineup of superstars.
