Bonn keep dreaming – Alba get themselves into position

On Sunday afternoon, three of the top four in the Basketball Bundesliga were on duty: Alba, Bonn and Bayern all mastered their away tasks.

The Telekom Baskets Bonn continue to run ahead in the Basketball Bundesliga and dream of their first championship title. The leaders won 112:96 (60:50) at Frankfurt Skyliners on Sunday and kept their pursuers at bay. It was the 22nd win in the 29th game of the season for the five-time runners-up.

Bayern München moved back up to second place in the table after a night in third place. A 95-85 (48-39) win at Gießen 46ers took coach Andrea Trinchieri’s side back past MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, who had beaten fourth-placed ratiopharm Ulm 74-61 (33-27) in the derby on Saturday. The Bavarians are four points behind Bonn, but have also played two games less.

Champions Alba Berlin are in position for the start of the play-offs and are level on points with Ulm. The 95:66 (52:34) at Mitteldeutsche BC was not dangerous at any time and the tenth victory in the past eleven league games. In the EuroLeague, Alba had failed with its play-off ambitions.
