Dortmund’s Salih Özcan will not play for Turkey in the upcoming international match. As the association announced, Özcan has suffered bone oedema in his foot from the Revierderby against Schalke.
Salih Özcan was still on the pitch for the full 90 minutes in the derby win against FC Schalke 04 on Saturday, but now medical examinations have revealed he has bone oedema in his foot.
As the Turkish federation announced, Özcan will therefore not join the Turkish national team for the international matches as planned. Instead, the federation has re-nominated Tolga Cigerci and Ismail Yüksek. For Stefan Kuntz’s team, the Nations League clash with Luxembourg is scheduled for Thursday (20:45), and on Sunday Turkey will play against Faroe Islands (20:45).
