FC Barcelona have a realistic chance of a quadruple in their first season under coach Hansi Flick. However, there is now trouble surrounding the Copa del Rey final.
Hansi Flick already knows what it feels like to win a final against Real Madrid. On January 12, Barcelona defeated the Whites 5-2 in the Supercopa final. Flick would certainly not object to a similar result on April 26 – when the Copa del Rey final against arch-rivals Real awaits.
However, there is now ticket trouble ahead of the final in Seville. On Friday evening, the Catalans published a long statement on their website. According to this, there have been an increasing number of cases of ticket resale.
These were reserved for club members and those of the Supporters’ Club and allocated via a draw. “In view of the situation and the clear prohibition of the resale of tickets from the draw, the club is forced to take strict measures to ensure the legality and correct use of the tickets,” the La Liga leader announced.
Warning and request to fans
What the measures specifically look like: All tickets that the club determines have been offered or purchased through a resale channel will automatically be declared invalid and will not grant access to the stadium. The personalized tickets are expressly non-transferable.
FC Barcelona “warns and asks” members and fans not to purchase tickets outside of the club’s official channels. In addition, the Catalans announced that they are working hard to “acquire additional tickets that we would make available to members who were unlucky in the draw.” To date, however, the organizer has always refused Barcelona.
The club’s management has, however, reserved the right to “take disciplinary or legal action against individuals or entities” who resell tickets.
