Arminia’s Wimmer with mask – 2G in the stadium

Arminia is also reacting to the rapidly rising infection figures and is changing its admission regulations for the next home match. Meanwhile, a DSC player is also expected to wear a face shield against Wolfsburg – but for entirely different reasons.

He was already involved in the first part of the training programme on Tuesday morning, but Patrick Wimmer did not take part in the second part. Reason: The Austrian was still waiting for his specially made face mask, which is supposed to protect him from ball and body contact, especially in duels, after the injury he suffered ten days ago.

In the recent Bundesliga match in Stuttgart, which the Bielefeld side won 1-0 , Wimmer had collided head-on with his VfB counterpart Nikolas Nartey after 79 minutes. The 20-year-old was forced to leave the pitch bleeding and dazed, but fortunately did not suffer a more serious injury.

Rapidly rising infection figures

In the upcoming home match against VfL Wolfsburg, Arminia’s most effective offensive player to date is expected to be able to take part on Saturday – for completely different reasons wearing a mask, which has always been necessary for spectators due to the pandemic. What’s more, in view of the rapidly rising number of infections nationwide, DSC now announced on Tuesday that it would change the admission conditions before the match to the 2G regulation. The club is thus acting in advance of the announcement made by North Rhine-Westphalia’s Minister President Hendrik Wüst, according to the official statement. The federal state is expected to decide on and implement corresponding orders for visits to public institutions and events this week.

Accordingly, only proven vaccinated or recovered persons will be able to watch the match on site. “A negative test result will no longer suffice on Saturday,” let the East Westphalians know. Ticket holders can pass on their ticket for the Wolfsburg game on an online portal if necessary.

Access possible with medical certificate

People who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons and who present a medical certificate for this purpose at least 24 hours before kick-off and subsequently a negative test result, as well as children up to and including the age of eleven, are not affected by the regulation. The latter will also be granted access with a negative test result issued at an official test centre or a receipt from school, which must not be older than 24 hours. The time of the stadium opening at 1.30 p.m. applies here.
