Reviews of the F1 25 Season Pack have been mixed. The lack of a co-op career mode has drawn particular criticism. EA SPORTS has responded—and dashed those hopes.
Reviews are mixed. While some praise the value for money of the F1 25 Season Pack, others are disappointed mainly because of one missing feature: the co-op career mode. EA SPORTS has now definitively dashed any hopes that this feature would be added later.
In a post on Reddit and Steam, the publisher explained that they know “how much the co-op career mode means to you” and understand “that this news will be disappointing.”
According to EA SPORTS, during the development of the Season Pack, they “carefully evaluated” whether the feature could be integrated. “Ultimately, however, we had to focus on the changes that would have the greatest impact on the new gameplay experience in 2026, including updated rules, a revamped driving model, a new race track, and the introduction of new teams,” the statement continues. They acknowledge that this “is not the answer you were hoping for” and do not wish to downplay the disappointment.
EA SPORTS misses the reboot
EA SPORTS had already announced last November that it would not release a standalone F1 game for this season. “We are fully committed to the F1 franchise. Our multi-year plan extends this year’s excitement with the 2026 expansion and reimagines the F1 experience for 2027 to offer even more to players of all skill levels worldwide,” explained Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters, at the time.
Given the extensive rule changes in real-life Formula 1, a complete reboot of the series might have been beneficial as early as this year. Nevertheless, the Season Pack successfully captures both the fascination and the frustration of the current premier class of motorsport—at least that’s our conclusion in the review.
