WWE enlarges Germany quake

In the run-up to the historic “Bash in Berlin” event, the wrestling market leader is also hosting an episode of the TV show SmackDown live in Germany for the first time

The historic wrestling festival in Germany turns into a weekend of celebration: In the run-up to the first major WWE event on German soil, an edition of the TV show Friday Night SmackDown live from Germany will also take place for the first time.

On August 30, 2024 – one day before “Bash in Berlin” – the “go-home show” of the Friday show will also take place in the Mercedes-Benz Arena. This was announced by WWE on Tuesday. According to the league, the “incredible” demand for tickets has led to this decision. The official pre-sale will begin at the end of November.

WWE Bash in Berlin 2024 – a historic wrestling novelty

“Bash in Berlin” will be the first “Premium Live Evet” ever to take place on German soil: Unlike the other German shows, the event will be broadcast live to all international markets, and the regular TV shows RAW and SmackDown will spend weeks building up to the matches scheduled there, much like the other “PLEs” WrestleMania, Royal Rumble and co.

The league – which, like the UFC, recently became part of the new combat sports conglomerate TKO – has been increasingly focusing on major events outside the USA for some time now. The German market is now also benefiting from this trend, not least because of the prominent role that the German-speaking Imperium group (Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, Giovanni Vinci) has taken on in the WWE program.

WWE also recently made the first major event in France official, with Backlash 2024 taking place in Lyon on May 4.

Fans interested in tickets for the German spectacle already have the opportunity to register for the pre-sale on the official WWE website.
