Musical affair: The match balls for the new men’s and women’s Champions League season are all about the anthems.
Adidas on Tuesday unveiled the official match balls for the UEFA Champions League as well as the UEFA Women’s Champions League 2023/24. The theme is “No Sound Needed”, with a press release stating, “The balls celebrate the respective anthems of each tournament by creatively integrating the lyrics into the design.”
The now legendary men’s Champions League anthem of string melody and choral singing has existed since 1992 and is heard in the stadium before every premier league match. The new ball picks up the famous lyrics.

The twelve star-shaped panels show the twelve letters in “The Champions” in a calligraphy look. Subtle note detailing completes the look.
The UEFA Women’s Champions League has had its own anthem since 2021/22. The luminous, star-shaped panels on the ball also feature the lyrics.
