The Land team will compete with Porsche in the DTM for the first time in 2026: the new 911 GT3 R not only has fresh colors, but also a special name
The Land team, which is making the switch to Porsche this year after many years with Audi, has unveiled its DTM car for the upcoming season: The Evo version of the 911 GT3 R, which Danish Porsche talent Bastian Buus will be competing in, will have a black and red design, with white elements.
The look is reminiscent of earlier designs, but the colors are completely new. In addition, the new Porsche, with which the team from Niederdreisbach in the Westerwald has already completed some tests, already has a name: After Ricardo Feller drove the Audi cars “Eileen” and ‘Joleen’ last year, Buus is sitting in “Scarlett” this year.
This also explains the color scheme, as Scarlet is an English term for the color scarlet. How did the new name come about? The team called on fans on social media to make suggestions for the name of the new vehicle and decided on this choice.
Unusual color scheme, familiar sponsors
Christian Land’s team traditionally names its cars after female names from a song: this time it is the 2021 song “Scarlett” by British singer Holly Humberstone.
Although the color scheme of the new Porsche is somewhat unusual for Land, the sponsor logos that can be seen on the car are familiar: Joyn, ProSiebenSat.1’s streaming provider, is on board – albeit on a slightly smaller scale than last year. And the suspension manufacturer Eibach from the Sauerland region is also known from the past as a land sponsor.
The IT service provider Uponu and the lubricant manufacturer Ravenol will also be involved. This year, the team is taking on the challenge of entering a Porsche in the DTM alongside top team Manthey.
Announcement in time for official test in Spielberg
Originally, the team did not rule out a second car, but there was no longer any talk of this. As a result, Land is the only team in the 21-car field to field only one car, as was the case last year. The design has now been presented in time for the official DTM test in Spielberg.
This will take place on April 14 at the Red Bull Ring – and it will be the first meeting of all the teams with all the cars for the new season with the new liveries for the 2026 season. The fans will therefore also be able to see what the new Land livery will look like on the race track.
The new exclusive DTM tire from Pirelli, the specification of which the Italians only decided on at the end of March, is causing particular excitement this year. It should ensure better lap times and greater tire degradation than in previous years.
