What date is the World Cup final?

The 2018 World Cup final will be played in Russia’s largest stadium Luzhniki. The Olympic stadium’s capacity is 81.000. All those lucky fans will be able to witness a final between two fantastic teams on July 15 at 17:00.

World Cup 2018 Venue

The 2018 FIFA World Cup final will be the 21st final in history and the first one to be played in Eastern Europe. The choice of Luzhniki Stadium as the host venue was an easy one. It’s the national football team’s stadium and has more seating capacity than any other stadium hosting games in Russia this summer. Saint Petersburg’s Krestovsky Stadium is second best with 68.000.

Luzhniki was the main stadium during the 1980 Olympics, hosted the UEFA Cup final between Parma and Marseille in 1999, the UEFA Champions League final between Manchester United and Chelsea in 2008 and the 2013 World Championships in Athletics. It also went through an extensive renovation process for this World Cup.

World Cup Predicts

Predicting who will meet on July 15 is like playing a casino game. You make some deductions and come up with your best guess, but in no way can you be certain of collecting the winning prize. Usually, the host is one of the favorites to go far, but this year, that’s not the case. Russia already accomplished its mission of reaching the Round of 16. Every next step on the ladder will be steeper and steeper.

The defending champion Germany has not been its usual dominant self, France is yet to show its Euro 2016 form, Spain nearly lost to Morocco and Brazil needed two injury-time goals to defeat Costa Rica. It’s probably something that makes this World Cup unique. Not a single team has asserted itself as the favorite, which opens the door for other teams to surprise, and that’s what football fans want. A Cinderella story is what makes a tournament memorable. Squads like Croatia, Mexico and Colombia have tremendous support and have fans excited about what they can accomplish. Portugal, Belgium, Argentina and England are lurking from the background and will pounce on any opportunity one of the favorites offers.

World Cup Final Date

Regardless of who plays in the 2018 World Cup final, millions of viewers from around the globe will be attached to their screens to watch it. If you don’t want to be one of the few ones who don’t, then remember the date: Sunday, July 15, 17:00 (GMT+2).
