Wagner seals third Warriors defeat with dunk

The Golden State Warriors have lost their second game without the injured Steph Curry and suffered a serious setback in the fight for the best play-off places. They lost 90-94 against the Orlando Magic with the Wagner brothers on Tuesday night, their third defeat in a row.

“I think we’re playing soft, I think we’re playing stupid,” Warriors pro Draymond Green said. “We’re just not playing good basketball.” Curry is likely to miss his team for at least another week because of an ankle injury.

Berlin’s Franz Wagner, who had a strong game with a total of 18 points, sealed Orlando’s 20th win of the season with three converted free throws and a dunk in the final 14 seconds of the game. “He has an incredible will to do the right thing. He wants to take advantage of those big moments. He’s got a great presence there,” coach Jamahl Mosley praised his No. 22. “It’s great,” the 20-year-old Wagner said. His team had led 46-38 at halftime, then trailed by as many as 14 points and still won. “We had fun on defence, too,” he said.

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Chicago Bulls 126-98 in the Eastern Conference’s top game. After a one-game break because of knee discomfort, Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 25 points and 17 rebounds to help the defending champions consolidate second place behind the Miami Heat. The Bulls are fifth.
