VfB Stuttgart and ex-marketing director Röttgermann reach agreement

The legal dispute between VfB Stuttgart and Jochen Röttgermann has been settled out of court.

As the Stuttgart Regional Court announced on Tuesday morning, both parties have reached an “amicable settlement”. A court hearing was actually scheduled for 10 a.m., but this has now been cancelled.

The VfB supervisory board had dismissed Röttgermann, board member for marketing and sales, in February in an extraordinary meeting. The background was the data protection affair at the club. President Claus Vogt had cited “organisational failure” and “coming to terms with the allegations” as reasons for the resignation of Röttgermann and his board colleague Stefan Heim (Finance).

VfB had already reached an out-of-court settlement with former marketing director Uwe Fischer, who was also forced to resign in the course of the affair, in April, and after losing a case before the labour court, also with former head of communications Oliver Schraft.
