The VBL Open produced 20 more qualifiers for the play-offs in January, with the second-tier of big clubs making the move.
In Niklas ‘NRaseck’, one of Germany’s best-known and best FIFA professionals had made it into the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) play-offs at the end of 2021 in December. To kick off 2022, the names are not quite as big, yet some prominent players dominated the VBL Open.
Several players are represented who also play in the VBL Club Championship. On both Playstation and Xbox, one top talent each has landed a place in the play-offs. Max ‘Diviners’ Gröne from SV Werder Bremen and Fabrice ‘whiteezz05’ Weiß from TSG Hoffenheim have secured their ticket.
Top talents with furore potential
‘Diviners’ was already the high-flyer of the singles championship last season, the player from Bremen was only stopped in the Grand Final by title holder Umut ‘RBLZ_UMUT’ Gültekin. In the current season, ‘Diviners’ also gained experience for Werder in the VBL Club Championship.
The same goes for ‘whiteezz05’, who has already become a regular at TSG, which is on the upswing. After seven wins and six draws, the 16-year-old only suffered his first defeat in the VBL Club Championship last week against Emil ‘EmilSGE’ Köhler (0:3) of Eintracht Frankfurt.
Hertha pros for both consoles
Hertha BSC entered the play-offs in a double pack: On PlayStation, Leroy ‘Leroy_1892’ Richter was among the ten most successful Open players, while on Xbox, Christoph ‘Chrissi291’ Strietzel was among the winners. Ditmir ‘Ditmir 4897’ Alimi from 1. FC Köln is also one of the better-known pros.
