Unrest at Milan – Ibrahimovic about to return

Things haven’t been going well at AC Milan in recent weeks, and coach Stefano Pioli in particular is feeling the pinch. Meanwhile, the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on the horizon.

Players who suddenly make their displeasure known after substitutions, or Olivier Giroud, who publicly criticized coach Stefano Pioli’s ambiguous tactics after squandering a 2-0 lead in Naples: AC Milan’s sporting slump is currently being garnished by unrest that is being carried to the outside. There is said to be a crisis in the dressing room of the Italian world club.

After the defeats against Juventus Torino in Serie A and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, as well as the 2:2 against Napoli again in the league, where AC is ranked third, according to consistent media reports in recent days, a possible solution to the alleged communication problems: the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swede, who ended his long playing career with the Rossoneri after last season, appeared in his second phase at the club – Ibrahimovic already played for Milan between 2010 and 2012 – mainly as a mentor and link between the team and the coach, while his body gradually let him down.

The talks are getting more intense

The 42-year-old could once again act as an interface between the players and the sporting management as part of the management team, with the former world-class striker expected to work close to the team. Coach Pioli, who has come under criticism, is said to approve. According to “Gazzetta dello Sport”, there have been talks between the club and Ibrahimovic for weeks, and they are becoming more intense.

In Serie A, the player Ibrahimovic had matured into a world star in the jersey of Juventus Turin between 2004 and 2006 and then until 2009 at Inter Milan. He later wore the Milan jersey for a total of five and a half years, scoring 93 goals in 163 competitive matches. In 2011 and 2022, he won the Italian championship with the Rossoneri – the second time already as a guarantor off the pitch as well.
