UFL gaming session at the Leaders Conference in Abu Dhabi

Under the motto “The new dynamics of global sport”, the Leaders Conference took place in Abu Dhabi in mid-March. UFL was also part of it – and let guests have a go at the game themselves.

Last week Strikerz Inc, the developer behind the upcoming FIFA competitor UFL, released its first public update in a long time. In it, the Minsk-headquartered company announced that it would continue development of its game despite the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Exhibition participation already in mid-March

The studio underlined this with another tweet on Tuesday, revealing that UFL had already been showcased at the Leaders Sport Business Summit in Abu Dhabi in mid-March.

The industry trade show annually brings together a host of bigwigs from various sectors of the sports industry to exchange ideas on the latest trends and future developments.

Srikerz Inc. had used this opportunity to “meet local football and eSports associations as well as clubs and brands”. Among other things, this could have been about potential licensing for UFL. However, there are still no confirmations.

“Positive feedback” on the gameplay

In addition, there were several “non-public game sessions” at the fair, the Belarusian developer continues. Apparently with success: “We are grateful for all the positive feedback we received during the sessions,” Strikerz Inc. concluded the short conclusion.

So while trade fair visitors were already able to get a glimpse of the gameplay of the football simulation, gamers at home will have to remain patient with regard to a demo or test version for home use. But the end of the wait seems to be in sight: In the Reveal Trailer, which was released at the end of January, Strikerz Inc. announced its intention to release the game in 2022.
