Third division top scorer Scienza moves to Heidenheim

Leonardo Scienza contributed twelve goals and 17 assists to SSV Ulm 1846 Fußball’s march into the 2nd division. However, the top scorer in the third division is now moving up a level. The 25-year-old is moving to 1. FC Heidenheim in the Bundesliga

It was only last summer that Leonardo Scienza moved to Ulm after a mixed season and just twelve appearances (no goals) for 1. FC Magdeburg. What was supposed to be a move back turned out to be a hit for the Brazilian-Luxembourgish winger. With twelve goals and 17 assists, the 25-year-old played a key role in the promoted club’s rise to the Bundesliga 2, and was one of the top players in the 3rd Bundesliga

performances with which Scienza has attracted the attention of a number of interested parties. The deal has now been won by 1. FC Heidenheim, who have enjoyed an equally successful season as promoted Bundesliga side and can dream of reaching the qualifying round of the Conference League. The club from Heidenheim have signed the attacker, who was tied to Ulm until the summer of 2025, until 30 June 2027

“In Leo, we were able to acquire one of the great discoveries of this year’s third division season for our FCH and are firmly convinced that he has the potential to demonstrate his exceptional skills in the Bundesliga,” Robert Strauß, Head of Sport at FCH, is quoted as saying: “He played a key role in the success of his current team and now brings a new component to our attacking play.”

Scienza said he was flattered by the interest from Heidenheim. “As a player, you simply strive to constantly develop yourself both athletically and personally. I want to prove myself on a new footballing level with FCH,” he admits openly: “Being able to play in the Bundesliga is something very special that I’m really looking forward to. “

New signing number six

Scienza is the sixth new signing for FCH, who have already signed Julian Niehues (1. FC Kaiserslautern), Luca Kerber (1. FC Saarbrücken), Sirlord Conteh (SC Paderborn), Mathias Honsak (SV Darmstadt 98) and Maximilian Breunig (attack, SC Freiburg II) for the coming season
