Happy news! As Norwegian tennis star Casper Ruud announced on Thursday, the 26-year-old and his fiancée Maria Galligani are expecting their first child together.
The couple shared on Instagram that a baby girl will be born in 2026. “The team is growing. See you next year, little girl,” Ruud wrote under his post, adding a heart and angel emoji.
Djokovic, Alcaraz, and Nadal offer congratulations
Ruud, who celebrated his greatest success to date in May by winning the ATP Masters 1000 in Madrid, got engaged to his partner last year. Ruud and Galligani have been officially a couple since 2018.
Numerous tennis colleagues congratulated the parents-to-be under the post.
Novak Djokovic commented with three heart-eye emojis under the post, while US Open winner Carlos Alcaraz wrote “Congratulations” under the post. Icon Rafael Nadal also took the opportunity to congratulate Ruud, writing “Congratulations” just like Alcaraz.
