Chelsea FC is the new Club World Cup champion—the first in the new 32-team format, which made its debut this year. In your opinion, was the Club World Cup a success?
Cole Palmer scored two goals and provided an assist in the Club World Cup final against Paris St. Germain to secure the title for Chelsea FC. This is the second time in the club’s history that the Blues have been crowned Club World Champions. In 2021, the English side only had to win one semi-final and one final, but this year they had to play seven games on their way to the title.
The reason for this is the new format that FIFA has devised for the Club World Cup: 32 teams competed in a group stage and knockout rounds over the past four weeks. Even though FIFA President Gianni Infantino thought everything was wonderful, there was plenty of criticism of the tournament.
