Professional boxer Felix Sturm has returned to the ring with a convincing victory
Professional boxer Felix Sturm (44) has returned to the ring with a convincing performance. The former world champion defeated Turkish light heavyweight Sükrü Altay by technical knockout in the ninth of ten scheduled rounds in Ludwigsburg on Saturday. The referee took Altay out of the fight after he had taken heavy hits and appeared dazed. It was Sturm’s 44th victory in his 53rd professional fight.
Sturm had already defeated the Turk on points in February, after which he began a prison sentence for tax evasion in open prison. After the fight, Sturm left the continuation of his career open.
“If I were to retire today, it would be a very, very nice setting,” said Sturm, who has been world champion five times with various federations: “We’ll discuss it calmly. We’ll let everything come to us. There are one or two offers, but we’ll see what’s viable and what’s still worthwhile,” said Sturm, referring to his family.
