Relief in Phoenix: Ayton extends with the Suns

Star centre Deandre Ayton has extended his contract with the Phoenix Suns.

Ayton thus remains with one of the league’s top teams for the long term. “PHOENIX! I grew up here, was drafted here, we had our son here. We have the best fans in the world. I’m ready to get back to work with my brothers,” the centre wrote on Twitter on Tuesday night to two photos of him signing his new working paper.

The 23-year-old from the Bahamas is set to receive 133 million US dollars (around 131 million euros) over four years. The Suns, whose squad includes other superstars Chris Paul and Devin Booker, are one of the big title contenders in the NBA, but were defeated in the play-offs this year by the Dallas Mavericks led by Luka Doncic and Maxi Kleber.
