Record prize money: US Open to award $90 million

Nowhere in tennis is there as much money to be earned as in New York. The prize money for the last Grand Slam tournament of the season is increasing once again.

A total of $90 million (€77.3 million) is up for grabs at this year’s US Open tennis tournament. According to the organizers, this means that the Grand Slam tournament in New York remains the highest-paying event in tennis. Last year, the organizers had already offered a record prize money of $75 million. This sum has now been increased by another 20 percent.

The winners of the singles competitions will each receive five million dollars (4.3 million euros), up from 3.6 million dollars a year ago. There will also be a double-digit percentage increase in prize money for all rounds, according to the announcement.

One million dollars for doubles titles

Not only will advancing to the later stages of the tournament be lucrative for the pros, but there will also be significant bonuses for qualifying and winning in the early rounds. The qualifying tournament is already endowed with eight million dollars, ten percent more than in 2024. There, the last participants for the 128-player main draw will be decided.

The winning pairs in the doubles and mixed doubles will each receive one million dollars. The mixed doubles competition at the last Grand Slam tournament of the season will be played separately on August 19 and 20, with the singles matches in the main draw starting on August 24.
