Positive Corona Test for Davis Cup Team Principal Kohlmann

Rio de Janeiro – German Davis Cup Team Principal Michael Kohlmann has tested positive for the Corona virus a few days before his departure for Brazil, the German Tennis Federation announced.

The 48-year-old, who is boostered, has taken a mild course so far and still hopes to make the trip on Saturday. The German team will face Brazil in Rio de Janeiro on 4/5 March.

Kohlmann is currently in quarantine. If he can present a negative PCR test by the end of the week, he will travel to Brazil as normal. Otherwise, national coach Philipp Petzschner will stand in for him and, together with Dirk Dier, look after the German Davis Cup team on site.

The German team will have to do without Olympic champion Alexander Zverev. The German team will be led by Jan-Lennard Struff. In addition, the two debutants Daniel Altmaier and Oscar Otte as well as the doubles specialists Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz are part of the line-up.
