Pole Position for Local Hero Simon Connor Primm at the Lausitzring

Simon Connor Primm secured pole position at his home race of the ADAC GT Masters at the Lausitzring: He put the HGL Audi in the top starting spot

Pole position at the ADAC GT Masters home race at the Lausitzring for Simon Connor Primm from Großschirma: Driving the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo 2, he clocked a best time of 1:20.476 minutes, securing the top starting spot for his team, HGL Racing, for the first time in the ADAC’s GT3 junior league.

“I’m incredibly happy. We’ve put so much work into the car, and it finally paid off. Many thanks to Audi, my team HGL Racing, and my team principal Tobias Seyfarth—none of this would be possible without them. It’s a real breakthrough,” beamed Primm, who shares the car with Robin Rogalski.

“We’ll see what’s possible in the race. Our Audi is good, and we’re confident.” Behind the pole-setter, the battle for the championship lead continues to intensify. Trailing by 0.059 seconds, the current second-place driver in the championship, Leyton Fourie (FK Performance), secured second place on the grid.

The BMW driver set one fastest lap after another early on and was ultimately beaten only by Primm. Right behind him, the current championship leader, Finn Zulauf (Team Engstler), took third place, 0.166 seconds behind. He took a different approach and didn’t set his fastest lap time until shortly before the end of the session.

Rounding out the top five are the two Porsche 911 GT3 R cars from Razoon – more than Racing. Leo Pichler will start the race from fourth on the grid, 0.206 seconds behind, with his teammate Pavel Lefterov right behind him, 0.257 seconds off the pace.

The second endurance race at the Lausitzring—80 minutes long, with two pit stops including driver changes and a single tire change—will be broadcast live on free-to-air TV on Sport1 starting at 3:05 p.m. and will also be available via live stream on Joyn, ServusTV On, and youtube.com/adacmotorsports.
