Only the medical check is missing: Jobe Bellingham close to signing with BVB

It was announced earlier this week that Jobe Bellingham had decided to transfer to Borussia Dortmund. Now both clubs have reached an agreement, and the transfer is imminent.

At the beginning of the week, Jobe Bellingham decided to move to Borussia Dortmund, with only an agreement between BVB and AFC Sunderland still to be reached. That has now been achieved, and the 19-year-old midfielder will undergo a medical in the near future. If he passes, he can officially join BVB. The transfer is therefore on the verge of completion.

A further €5 million could flow from the Ruhr region to Sunderland in the future in the form of bonus payments.

If the transfer goes ahead as planned, Jude Bellingham’s younger brother – who played for Dortmund from 2020 to 2023 – will even be eligible to play in the Club World Cup. This will start for Dortmund on June 17 with the first group match against Fluminense. BVB began preparations for the tournament in the US at the beginning of the week.

Like his brother, Jobe Bellingham was trained at Birmingham City. Two years ago, he moved to Sunderland in the second-tier Championship and helped the traditional club from the northeast coast return to the Premier League this summer.

In his 40 league games and three playoff appearances last season, the English youth international attracted the interest of several clubs. In the end, BVB prevailed against German rivals Leipzig and Frankfurt.
