NBA 2K24: Curry’s rating rollercoaster, double Wagner upgrade

The new rating update for the virtual basketball players in NBA 2K24 brings increases for two German world champions. Meanwhile, one top star goes into reverse

Just a few weeks ago, Steph Curry’s character in NBA 2K24 received an upgrade to 97 points and climbed to second place. Now the developer is going backwards for the Golden State Warriors pro: The latest rating update subtracts one point from Curry’s score, leaving him virtually at 96. However, it’s not just the 35-year-old’s digital alter ego that is on such a rollercoaster ride.

Victor Wembanyama has also been on an upward trajectory of late – with update 11.30, the setback follows. The San Antonio Spurs rookie is back at 85 points in NBA 2K24, having only been raised to 86 in mid-November. In addition to Curry, Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks also had to accept a downgrade among the top-rated players. The Slovenian now has a 95 rating (-1).

German brothers continue to climb

The figures of the two Wagner brothers, who became basketball world champions with the German national team in September, experience an opposite development. Franz Wagner gains a virtual point and only has an overall rating of 83. 2K Games also gives his older brother Moritz another point, which raises his overall rating to 78.

Moritz Wagner had already been positively considered in the last adjustment round – at that time together with world champion captain Dennis Schröder. This time, however, the Toronto Raptors point guard is left empty-handed. This also applies to the Los Angeles Clippers: they are the only franchise to be downgraded exclusively. Among the players affected are big names such as Kawhi Leonard (90 after -2) and James Harden (86 after -3).

In contrast, the Indiana Pacers are the only team to receive upgrades. The biggest jump was made by Tyrese Haliburton, whose rating rose from 90 to 92. Meanwhile, Devon Booker of the Phoenix Suns ranks highest among the winners of the update. An extra point helps the shooting guard to a 95 rating and a shared fourth place in this category
