MrBeast: YouTube megastar crashes Formula E racing car!

With 371 million followers, MrBeast is the most successful YouTuber in the world, but now the 26-year-old has destroyed David Beckmann’s Formula E racing car.

He may have 371 million followers on YouTube, but that can’t buy driving talent in a race car. MrBeast, the most successful YouTuber in the world, has now wrecked a real Formula E race car.

Formula E is currently holding a show event at the Miami Formula 1 circuit, where celebrities and influencers from around the world are learning the trade of a racing driver under the guidance of real Formula E drivers and are allowed to chase the million-dollar cars around the Miami International Autodrom.

Among them is James Donaldson, who most people probably know better by his pseudonym MrBeast. The 26-year-old American is known for his elaborately staged videos on YouTube, in which he has people play crazy games for millions, completes extreme tasks himself or recreates the series “Squid Game”.

But while he has been enormously successful in his professional life, the same cannot be said of his appearance in Formula E. In just his second lap in German racing driver David Beckmann’s Cupra Kiro, he crashed the car into the wall.

MrBeast had managed the first lap in Miami behind the safety car without crashing, but in the first sector of the second lap, he lost control of the car, spun and crashed into the barrier.

Although the American was able to get out of the car unhurt, his Formula E adventure was over and the car was damaged. “Can someone explain to me why this happened?” he laughed back in the garage and said, “I felt like I spun four times.”

MrBeast was not actually part of the eleven-person line-up taking on the Formula E Evo sessions these days. The 26-year-old was only supposed to take a guided tour around the track behind the safety car, but he didn’t come back from it with an undamaged car: “I thought, okay, now we’re going straight ahead – and then not anymore,” he describes.

But the YouTuber was not the only one who had difficulties in the Formula E car: football star Sergio Aguero, who drove for Porsche, spun but did not crash. Other celebrities include Brooklyn Beckham (son of football star David Beckham) and Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter series.
