‘Mourinho has his eye on former Ajax back Kristensen’

According to Italian media, Rasmus Kristensen is in the interest of AS Roma. The team of coach José Mourinho is looking for an extra right back.

Roma said goodbye to Bruno Peres last summer and brought the young Bryan Reynolds back in return. The twenty-year-old American has to compete with first choice Rick Karsdorp, but is not able to charm Mourinho for the time being. The Portuguese trainer has not made that too subtly known several times. Davide Santon is mainly used on the left side.

Karsdorp is therefore the only serious option for Mourinho in the right-back position. The Dutchman is forced to show up for almost every match. The trainer has asked his technical director Tiago Pinto for a new right back. Diogo Dalot, who was once brought to Manchester United by Mourinho, was at the top of his wish list. But the young back is experiencing a new start under Ralf Rangnick and is not allowed to leave.

According to Il Tempo, Pinto has now ended up with Kristensen. The 24-year-old Dane has taken steps in his development after his transfer from Ajax to Red Bull Salzburg. Kristensen made his debut for the Danish national team in the autumn and is also an attacking weapon at Salzburg this season: he has already scored six goals in the Austrian Bundesliga. In the Champions League, he stood out mainly in defensive terms.

Kristensen still has a contract in Salzburg until mid-2025, but would have a clause worth ten million euros in his contract. If Roma succeeds in bringing him in, Reynolds will be allowed to leave on loan.
