More than 30,000 tickets sold – HSV hope for full house

When Hamburger SV host Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday, there will be a big crowd at the Volksparkstadion.

As Hamburger SV announced, the Hanseatics have already sold over 30,000 tickets for the clash against Düsseldorf.  So the Volksparkstadion could be really full for the first time since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic at the weekend.

It is the first home match of the traditional club under 2G conditions – theoretically, therefore, a sold-out stadium with 57,000 fans would be possible.

The lower tier in the north stand will once again become a standing area

Since only vaccinated and recovered fans will have access to the stadium, the distance rules and the mask requirement will be abolished and, among other things, the lower tier of the North Stand will once again become a standing-room-only area. Alcohol may also be served again.

“We are happy about every fan, every visitor who comes to see us in the Volksparkstadion, but we also have understanding for those who are perhaps not yet completely comfortable with the sudden opening and the sudden closeness and who perhaps want to wait a little longer before they want to come back to the stadium,” said HSV CFO Frank Wettstein.
HSV are seventh in the table with 14 points after their recent 1-1 draw at Aue, while Düsseldorf slipped to twelfth after losing 3-2 to Paderborn.
