Mission H24: Fuel cell prototype makes race debut at Imola

The Mission H24 hydrogen project, driven by Le Mans organiser ACO, makes its first race appearance at the Le Mans Cup in Imola

Premiere in competition for the Mission H24 project: the Le Mans prototype powered by hydrogen fuel cells will make its racing debut at the Le Mans Cup in Imola (Italy) next weekend. The car will be driven by Norman Nato and Stephane Richelmi.

Until now, the Mission H24 project had only been used for test drives, free practice sessions out of competition and for demo laps on a race track. The now confirmed race debut is considered to be the last step before an expected commitment by the ACO for a race entry on the occasion of the “Road to Le Mans” in June.

The “Road to Le Mans” is the supporting programme of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which are on this year’s calendar for the weekend of 11/12 June. For the medium-term future, it is planned that the Mission H24 bolide will participate in the 24h Le Mans as a so-called “Garage 56” entry. After several setbacks in the project, however, this is not expected before 2025.
