Boxer Nina Meinke has successfully defended her IBF world title. The Berlin native defeated Argentina’s Daniela Bermudez unanimously on points in Rostock. Two judges scored the fight 117-111, with one scoring it 118-110. The 32-year-old had already defeated Bermudez on points in September to win the world title in the featherweight division (up to 57.2 kg), and now celebrated her 20th victory in her 23rd professional fight.
Meinke, whose fighting name is “The Brave,” and the 35-year-old Bermudez faced each other in a rematch over the men’s distance of twelve rounds of three minutes each. The German inflicted her Argentine opponent’s sixth defeat in 41 professional fights.
